  • Bentley Motors reveals the third coachbuilt Bentley of the modern era – the Batur Convertible. Created by Mulliner, Bentley’s in house bespoke division and the longest standing coachbuilder in the world, the Batur Convertible follows the exquisitely hand-crafted Bacalar barchetta and Batur coupe. With the Batur Convertible, Mulliner continues its long tradition of crafting truly individual cars, tailored to the wishes of each of its extraordinary clients.

The Batur Convertible furthers the innovative design DNA introduced by its coupe sibling that will ultimately guide the design of Bentley’s future cars. The Batur Convertible retains the most powerful version of Bentley’s iconic W12, with a 750 PS, hand-assembled 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine that has metaphorically and literally powered Bentley’s success for the last two decades. With the engine to finish production this summer, the Batur Convertible will be one of the last ever Bentleys to use this incredible powertrain.

    Bespoke two-seat grand touring

Bentley has a rich history of open-cockpit cars, from the very first Bentley of 1919, through the company’s foundation years in the 1920s, to the most recent – the Bacalar. The architecture of the Batur Convertible has allowed Mulliner’s designers to seize the opportunity to create a theme that not only blends the design of the Bacalar and Batur but includes the usability of a convertible. The designers also chose to highlight the two-seater character with a ‘wraparound’ cockpit inspired by the design of the Bacalar.

The dramatic ‘airbridge’ behind the seats and tapered cowls at the rear hark back to the barchetta sports cars of old, whilst underlining the promise of a dynamic, driver-focused adventure in a cosseting, cocooned environment. The airbridge and tapered cowls are not only aesthetic, but also provide a semi-enclosed luggage compartment behind the two front seats.

The convertible roof delivers an aesthetic of beauty as a modern, tactile alternative to a hardtop roof. A combination of insulation material, sealing system refinements and acoustic treatments create a cossetting environment in a system which can be deployed or stowed in just 19 seconds, with the car travelling at speeds of up to 30 mph (50 km/h), transforming the car from a luxurious coupe into an open-top Grand Tourer at the touch of a button.

    Personal and uniquely commisioned

Mulliner’s in-house design team will help co-create every Batur Convertible with its customer, working together through a specially created Mulliner visualiser that allows any part of the car to be customised in colour and surface finish. Endless samples of unique materials bring texture to the process, and the resulting designs will be truly individual and created by the customer – limited only by their imagination.

Customers will be able to specify the colour and finish of practically every surface of the Batur Convertible, to create a car as individual as they are. Beyond the exterior form of the car lies an almost endless array of choices for each car’s future owner to make.

Paint choice is infinite – starting with the full Mulliner colour palette and travelling beyond into fully bespoke paint and even hand-painted graphics. The exterior brightware can be any mix of light and dark, satin or gloss or even titanium. Another subtle option available is a graduated contrast colour to the front grille, for a vibrant ombre effect.

The Batur Convertible offers further areas to personalise with the unique Airbridge, tonneau cover and roof materials being able to be specified to complement the rest of the cabin and exterior.

In the cabin, the highly exclusive option of 3D printed rose gold includes key driver touch points, such as the Bentley Drive Mode Selector, encircling the start/stop button and used to change chassis modes. The centrepiece of an exquisite cabin, the dial complements the design of the front grille. Rose gold can also applied to Bentley’s iconic Organ Stop vent controls in the dashboard, as well as a rose gold insert marker on the steering wheel itself.

Bentley Mulliner has collaborated with expert goldsmiths based in the historic Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham, England, where jewellery has been made for centuries, to craft the unique parts. This special collaboration highlights Bentley’s ability to combine new, advanced manufacturing technologies with more traditional materials and finishing techniques.

    Exclusive and powerful

Each Batur Convertible will be handcrafted over the course of several months in Mulliner’s workshop at Bentley’s carbon neutral factory in Crewe, England. Production will be limited to just 16 pieces, each among the last ever Bentleys to be powered by the company’s iconic W12 engine, in its most potent iteration.

For the W12 powertrain that the Batur Convertible shares with its coupe counterpart, a revised intake system, upgraded turbochargers, new intercoolers and extensive recalibration enables 750 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque, to deliver exceptional performance for this pinnacle grand tourer. This development of the engine is in celebration of its achievements over 20 years, over which time it has been developed to produce nearly 40% more power while fuel economy has improved by 25%. The W12 is paired with Bentley’s eight-speed double-clutch transmission, and a sports exhaust to provide a soundtrack in keeping with the level of performance. The entire exhaust system is in titanium, while the finishers are 3D-printed in titanium.

    Batur Convertible Car #0

The engineering development car – Batur Convertible Car #0 – has had the same level of attention to detail as a customer’s own specification. The exterior paintwork is a bespoke colour – Vermillion Gloss over Vermillion Satin Duo tone – that provides a vibrant colour across the contemporary surfaces. The bodywork is underscored by front splitters, side skirts and rear diffuser in high gloss carbon fibre.

The front of the car features a grille of exceptional art – with the main matrix finished in Gloss Dark Titanium, accented with contrast chevrons in a horizontal ombré pattern that flows from Beluga in the centre and lighten to the vibrant sides in Vermillion Gloss. The “endless bonnet” line is finished in Gloss Dark Titanium paint, as are the 22” wheels – with the spokes in Gloss and Satin Black Titanium with Vermillion Gloss accents.

In its engineering, technology, materials, and design, Black Badge Cullinan Series II satisfies these clients’ keen appetite for innovation and new modes of self-expression. Cullinan’s darker alter ego has always asserted its own unique place in our product portfolio; I’m certain that this new incarnation will build on its predecessor’s success.”

Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

“Black Badge Cullinan Series II reflects the changes we’ve seen in our client profile since we first launched this transformative motor car five years ago. Today, self-expression, individuality and boldness are demanded more than ever before – all attributes that form the core of the Black Badge attitude. Our creative response has matched the daring of those who commission these motor cars. The dark, primal elements that are so essential to the Black Badge character are expressed here in extremis, and are further amplified by dramatic and assertive coachwork reserved for this disruptive expression of the brand.”

Anders Warming, Director of Design, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

Rolls-Royce’s disruptive alter ego, Black Badge, reached its apotheosis in Cullinan where its assertive and uncompromising attitude appeals to clients who seek the boldest forms of self-expression. Today, the marque presents a clear evolution of this subversive motor car with Black Badge Cullinan Series II.

BLACK BADGE CULLINAN SERIES II: EXTERIOR

Black Badge Cullinan Series II asserts its presence with an impactful front-end treatment. The principal differentiator is the lower air intake design. These geometrical pieces incorporate widened veins, signalling the motor car’s more urgent dynamic character. Above this is the marque’s iconic Pantheon grille, which has been illuminated for the first time across Cullinan and Black Badge Cullinan Series II. For Black Badge, the grille is finished in the series’ hallmark Black, though a silver ‘horizon line’ creates a sense of breadth and solidity while framing the motor car’s vertical daytime running lights. For clients wishing to fully cloak their motor car in darkness, this is also available in an all-black finish.

All exterior body detail elements and brightwork, including the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, are also finished in Black. For the first time in the history of Black Badge, this now extends from the window surrounds and door spears to the door handles. Each piece is hand-prepared by the marque’s artisans: first, a light abrasive is used across the handle to provide a ‘key’ for a hardwearing primer, onto which four coats of Black paint are then applied. After curing, these pieces are individually polished to ensure that they match the rich, high-gloss coachwork of Black Badge Cullinan Series II.

Other darkened elements, including the rear tailgate and bumper accents as well as the motor car’s exhausts, are treated with a specific chrome electrolyte to achieve the mirror-black effect. This is introduced to the traditional chrome plating process and co-deposited on the stainless-steel substrate, darkening the finish. Its final thickness is just one micrometre – around one-hundredth of the width of a human hair. Each of these components is precision-polished by hand to achieve a mirror-black chrome finish before it is fitted to the motor car.

Black Badge Cullinan Series II clients are now able to extend exterior colours to all lower body surfaces, as well as the subtly enhanced lower sill, valances, and lower front bumper – a treatment reserved for Black Badge Cullinan Series II. This visually lowers the motor car, creating a more dynamic statement that further amplifies its monolithic form.

The exterior treatment is completed with 23-inch wheels – the first time wheels of this size have been offered by the marque for a Black Badge motor car. From a distance, the design appears to consist of five spokes finished in gloss-black and silver. In fact, there are 10 interwoven spokes: the visual effect is created by a carefully-orchestrated interplay between polished, painted and recessed, negative surfaces. The design also allows a clear view of the Black Badge disc brake callipers, shown in a signature Red, which can also be finished in Black, Turchese, Mandarin, or Forge Yellow.

BLACK BADGE CULLINAN SERIES II: A SUBVERSIVE INTERIOR TREATMENT

Advanced, technical materials have become a hallmark of Black Badge Rolls-Royce motor cars. For Black Badge Cullinan Series II, this theme continues. Clients expressed their appreciation of the original Black Badge Cullinan’s Technical Carbon finish – on this basis, this exquisite material has been retained for Series II. The naked-weave carbon-fibre finish has been developed to create a precise repeating pattern of geometrical shapes that create a three-dimensional effect. Each leaf of Technical Carbon is finished with six coats of lacquer before being left to cure for 72 hours then all 23 pieces are hand-polished to a mirror finish. This process takes 21 days in total.

If Individual Rear Seats are commissioned, clients can include the Black Badge family motif, known as the infinity symbol, onto the rear Technical Carbon ‘Waterfall’ section that separates the rear reclining seats and conceals the Cullinan Series II Champagne cooler. This delicate aluminium piece is placed between the third and fourth layer of six layers of subtly tinted lacquer, creating the illusion that the symbol is floating above the Technical Carbon. In Lounge Seat configuration, the infinity symbol is embroidered.

The seats themselves are available to commission in the marque’s stunning new Duality Twill textile, a new rayon fabric made from bamboo and inspired by the extensive bamboo grove in Le Jardin des Méditerranées on the Côte d’Azur, which neighbours Sir Henry Royce’s former winter home, Villa Mimosa. The twill textile is embroidered with an artistic ‘Duality’ graphic. Based on an abstract interpretation of the two interlinked letter R initials of the marque’s founders, the design reflects a clear nautical influence, reminiscent of the interweaving rope lines found on sailing yachts – another subtle allusion to the French Riviera.

A complete Duality Twill interior of the intricately embroidered textile incorporates up to 2.2 million stitches and 11 miles of thread. This exquisite material can be further dramatised with bold Bespoke colourways, further enhancing this remarkable new finish for Black Badge clients.

Placed Perforation seating can also be incorporated into this bold expression of Cullinan. Up to 107,000 0.8- and 1.2-millimetre perforations are made onto the seat leather, creating an abstract pattern, inspired by the constantly changing shapes and shadows of the clouds over the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood in the twilight hours.

The dark ambience of Black Badge continues with the interior metals. Air vent surrounds on the dashboard and in the rear cabin are darkened using physical vapour deposition, a method of colouring metal that does not discolour or tarnish over time or through repeated use.

The subversive design principles of Black Badge motor cars have also been applied to Cullinan Series II’s unique Clock Cabinet. This inset vitrine displays both an analogue timepiece and an up-lit Spirit of Ecstasy figurine. The Spirit of Ecstasy is constructed from solid stainless steel and rendered in Black, recalling the figure that sits on the prow of Black Badge Cullinan Series II. The Clock Cabinet is flanked by Cullinan’s new Illuminated Fascia, which displays an ethereal glowing infinity symbol within the new vertical Cityscape pattern.

Black Badge Cullinan Series II is also the stage for an exclusive digital Bespoke treatment, with instrument dials now available in four neo-futuristic colourways: Vivid Grellow, Neon Nights, Cyan Fire and the kaleidoscopic-style Synth Wave.

BLACK BADGE CULLINAN SERIES II: PROVEN ENGINEERING

In Black Badge Cullinan’s first guise, clients requested that the Black Badge experience extended beyond the aesthetic treatment of the motor car. In the five years since its launch, the changes made by Rolls-Royce engineers for the 2019 motor car, which included higher capacity air springs to alleviate body roll and the addition of even greater power reserves, have become integral to this bold motor car’s appeal. Accordingly, these qualities are preserved for Black Badge Cullinan Series II, including the twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V12 engine, which generates a total output of 600PS, and 900Nm of torque.

To exploit the additional power, the transmission and throttle remain calibrated for more immediate acceleration. The ZF eight-speed gearbox and both front- and rear-steered axles work together to adjust the levels of feedback to the driver, depending on throttle and steering inputs without compromising the motor car’s effortless ‘magic carpet ride’ experience.

Depressing the ‘Low’ button on the gear selection stalk continues to unlock further Black Badge technologies. When activated, drivers experience a change in tone and volume from the Bespoke Black Badge exhaust system, signalling that all of the 900Nm torque reserves are available from 1700rpm – just 700rpm above tick-over. Low Mode also increases the speed of gear shifts by 50% when the throttle is depressed to 90%. To fully exploit Black Badge Cullinan Series II, the brake pedal travel has been decreased to create a more immediate response to driver inputs.

    A BOLD BESPOKE TREATMENT

Like its predecessor, Black Badge Cullinan Series II defines a distinct attitude and aesthetic code within the super-luxury sector. The clients who patronise this expression of the brand do so on their own terms – with Black Badge Cullinan Series II, Rolls-Royce signals its ongoing commitment to these individuals’ requirements, and their bold appreciation of luxury.

    The all-new BMW M4 CS https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/the-all-new-bmw-m4-cs/ https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/the-all-new-bmw-m4-cs/#respond Wed, 08 May 2024 07:06:04 +0000 https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/?p=94569
  • The new BMW M4 CS strikes a balance between the M4 Competition Coupé and the limited-run M4 CSL, boasting dynamic performance, all-wheel drive, and a powerful six-cylinder engine.
  • Featuring bespoke chassis tuning, lightweight design elements, and exclusive interior touches, the M4 CS delivers thrilling driving dynamics and track-worthy performance.
  • The new BMW M4 CS invites owners to experience the inimitable M feeling in all its depth and breadth. Its distinctive character profile places it exactly midway between the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive (fuel consumption, combined 10.1 – 10.0 l/100 km [28.0 – 28.3 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions, combined: 229 – 226 g/km in the WLTP cycle, CO2 class: G) – complete with its recently introduced performance, design and equipment upgrades – and the 1,000-unit limited-run BMW M4 CSL special edition (fuel consumption, combined 10.1 – 9.9 l/100 km [28.0 – 28.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions, combined: 227 – 224 g/km in the WLTP cycle, CO2 class: G). The pure-bred performance talents of the new BMW M4 CS are the product of M-typical racing genes, which offer constant reminders of their presence in everyday driving on the road and enjoy full expression out on the track.

The model-specific performance characteristics of the six-cylinder in-line engine in the BMW M4 CS, an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and M xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive imbue the new special edition with dynamic poise and assurance in any situation. Instantaneous power delivery and optimised traction enable acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds. In testing at the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife circuit – the ultimate barometer for all BMW M cars when it comes to the signature M recipe of dynamic potency, agility and handling precision – the new BMW M4 CS recorded an official and notarised time of 7 min. 21.989 sec. for the full 20.832-kilometre (12.943-mile) lap.

Six-cylinder in-line engine developed for motor sport .

The race-focused character of the new BMW M4 CS is immediately recognisable and a noticeable companion over every journey. The special edition is powered by a particularly muscular version of the high-revving six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology developed for the BMW M3/BMW M4 range. The 3.0-litre unit has had track performance as its raison d’être from day one of its development. Indeed, it also provides the basis for the engine in the BMW M4 GT3, which won the DTM touring car title in 2022 at the first time of asking and followed that up in 2023 with overall victories at the 24-hour races in Spa-Francorchamps and Dubai.

The engine in the new BMW M4 CS therefore also benefits from the development expertise of BMW M GmbH and the many years of racing experience that underpin it. The engine has an extremely rigid crankcase, which features a sleeve-free, closed-deck construction and is designed to handle very high combustion pressure. The forged lightweight crankshaft also displays exceptional torsional resistance, which plays a role in giving the engine its rapid power delivery and appetite for revs. The wire-arc sprayed iron coating of the likewise weight-saving cylinder bores reduces frictional losses. The cylinder head, meanwhile, has a 3D-printed core. This additive manufacturing process allows the coolant ducts to be routed in an optimum arrangement for temperature management that would be impossible to achieve using conventional metal casting methods. And the system of oil supply – like the cooling system – is designed to handle the specific challenges of track use, including consistently high revs and extreme lateral acceleration.

    Bespoke performance characteristics, distinctive sound.

Racing technology provides the foundations for the extraordinary potential of the six-cylinder in-line engine, which produces maximum output of 405 kW/550 hp from under the bonnet of the new BMW M4 CS. This represents a 15 kW/20 hp increase over the figures achieved by the engine in the BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive. The power boost was achieved through targeted revisions to the engine’s M TwinPower Turbo technology and required no concessions in terms of stability or durability. The adjustments primarily involved raising the maximum charge pressure of the two mono-scroll turbochargers to 2.1 bar and making some model-specific tweaks to the engine management.

The upgrades also produce a very specific take on familiar M performance characteristics, with instantaneous power delivery that continues unabated through to the upper echelons of the rev range a particularly dominant theme. The engine in the new BMW M4 CS puts its peak torque of 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) on tap from just 2,750 rpm up to 5,950 rpm. It develops maximum output at 6,250 rpm and has a 7,200 rpm red line. Contributing to the excellent engine response is a model-specific engine mounting with increased spring rates. The rigid connection between the power unit and the vehicle’s structure enables particularly direct transmission of its power to the drivetrain every time the driver presses the accelerator.

The instantly available power and high-revving character of the engine pave the way for imposing acceleration figures. The new BMW M4 CS dashes from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds, while 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) takes 11.1 seconds. The mid-range sprint from 80 to 120 km/h (50 – 75 mph) is dealt with in 2.6 seconds in 4th gear and in 3.3 seconds in 5th gear. The top speed of the special edition – which comes as standard with the M Driver’s Package – is electronically limited to 302 km/h (188 mph).

The engine’s power delivery is accompanied by the emotionally stirring soundtrack generated by the dual-branch exhaust system, which features electrically controlled flaps, a titanium rear silencer with weight-minimising design and – in customary M fashion – two pairs of tailpipes painted in matt Black. The engine’s acoustic presence adjusts to the powertrain setting selected via the M Setup menu. In SPORT and SPORT+ modes, the engine note gains unmissable racing car undertones. This injects genuine aural drama into proceedings, particularly during gear changes and the accompanying adjustments in rev speed.

Eight-speed M Steptronic transmission, M xDrive and active M differential convert outstanding power into imposing performance.

The engine’s drive torque is relayed to all four wheels of the new BMW M4 CS via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. This is operated using either the M-specific gear selector lever on the centre console or the carbon-fibre shift paddles on the steering wheel. The Drivelogic button integrated into the selector lever allows the driver to alter the transmission’s shift characteristics as desired, with a choice of settings available: one comfort-oriented, one for sports performance and one optimised specifically for track use.

The engine’s power is channelled onto the road by the M xDrive system. This intelligent all-wheel-drive technology uses an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch in the transfer case to distribute the engine’s power smoothly between the front and rear wheels – and so maximise traction, agility and directional stability in any situation. The multi-plate clutch’s oil supply has been optimised to ensure the all-wheel-drive system continues to perform effectively even during ultra-intense track sessions.

The M xDrive system’s rear-wheel bias and the way it teams up with the Active M Differential at the rear axle – whose operation is also fully variable – add to the signature M feeling when accelerating or powering through corners. Furthermore, the M Setup menu allows 4WD Sport mode to be selected, which directs an even greater proportion of the engine’s torque to the rear wheels. Drivers can also switch off the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system altogether and engage pure rear-wheel drive via 2WD mode. This engages skilled drivers in the driving experience to an even more intense degree.

Model-specific tuning for the chassis technology and control systems

The chassis technology for the new BMW M4 CS has been tuned precisely to the performance characteristics of the engine, the overall vehicle concept and its weight distribution. The individually tuned axle kinematics and bespoke wheel camber settings, dampers, auxiliary springs and anti-roll bars serve to optimise steering precision, transmission of lateral control forces when cornering, spring and damping response and wheel location.

The electronically controlled dampers of the adaptive M suspension on the new BMW M4 CS likewise come in a model-specific setup, as do its electromechanical M Servotronic steering with variable ratio and its integrated braking system. The settings for the DSC system and M Dynamic Mode have also been purposefully geared to the specific demands of dynamic circuit driving. M Dynamic Mode gives drivers extra leeway to explore the car’s dynamic limits by pushing back the intervention points for the DSC system’s various stabilising measures. When the driver adopts an extremely sporty driving style, the resultant wheel slip ensures even better power transmission and helps to propel the car down the road with extra assurance.

Exclusive forged light-alloy wheels and track tyres fitted as standard.

The special-edition model is equipped as standard with M Compound brakes with callipers painted in a choice of Red or Black. The callipers for the optional M Carbon ceramic brakes can be specified in a Red or matt Gold painted finish. The new BMW M4 CS also comes as standard with forged M light-alloy wheels in an exclusive V-spoke design – available in either in matt Gold Bronze or matt Black.

The lightweight wheels (19-inch at the front axle and 20-inch at the rear) are fitted as standard with track tyres (ultra track tyres as option) to maximise the performance experience on the race track. Offering outstanding lateral control and directional stability, precise steering feel and optimum traction, these track tyres – in the dimensions 275/35 ZR19 (front) and 285/30 ZR20 (rear) – represent a compelling proposition, even when the driver is living out their sporting ambitions on a circuit. Customers intending to use their BMW M4 CS mostly for day-to-day driving can select high-performance tyres in the same sizes as a no-cost option.

Intensive application of lightweight design with generous use of CFRP.

Extensive lightweight design measures play a major part in moulding the performance qualities and exclusive character of the new BMW M4 CS. The use of components made from carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) is of key importance here. The carbon-fibre roof is a prime example, its low weight bringing the car’s centre of gravity closer to the road and therefore enhancing agility and cornering dynamics. The bonnet, front splitter, front air intakes, exterior mirror caps, rear diffuser and Gurney-style rear spoiler are also made from this lightweight, high-tech material.

Adherence to the principle of intelligent lightweight design is also evident in the interior. Indeed, in the interests of reducing weight inside the cockpit, the centre console, shift paddles on the steering wheel and interior trim elements are all made from CFRP. The special-edition model also comes as standard with M Carbon bucket seats, whose weight-minimising construction is highlighted by the use of CFRP in the structural elements of the seat cushion and backrest as well as in the eye-catching cut-outs in the side bolsters and below the head restraints. Added to which, the exhaust system on the new BMW M4 CS is more than four kilograms lighter, thanks to the use of a titanium rear silencer. All in all, lightweight design measures bring the car’s weight down by around 20 kilograms compared to the BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive.

Optional M front end strut brace maximises torsional rigidity.

An M front end strut brace – also engineered for lightness – can be specified as an option for the BMW M4 CS to increase torsional rigidity and improve handling through dynamically taken corners. The cast aluminium elements connecting the spring strut towers to the front end feature a weight-optimised geometry that has been precisely matched – with the help of numerical models – to the forces applied in various driving situations.

Exclusive design features promise thrilling performance.

The new BMW M4 CS instantly announces its sharper character with a series of individual design features. The new BMW Individual special paint finishes Riviera Blue and Frozen Isle of Man Green Metallic are available exclusively for the latest special-edition model from BMW M GmbH. Surfaces in exposed carbon fibre for the roof and the pair of indents chiselled into the bonnet showcase the material’s distinctive structure, as do the front splitter, front air intakes, M exterior mirror caps, rear spoiler and rear apron. Together with the Black side skirts and M gills, the CFRP elements provide a stunning contrast against the bold new paint finishes. The new BMW M4 CS can also be specified in the exterior shades M Brooklyn Grey metallic and Sapphire Black metallic.

The vehicle’s front end sports a weight-saving, frameless BMW kidney grille with a stripped-back feel reminiscent of racing machines. Designed especially for this model, its identifying features include red contour lines and the “M4 CS” badging on the upper of the two horizontal grille bars. Both the model badge at the front and its counterpart on the boot lid have black surfaces with a red border.

Eye-catching headlights add another flourish to the front end of the new BMW M4 CS. Their sculptural light icons illuminate yellow instead of white – both during the Welcome Light Animation and while low beam or high beam is switched on – and so reference successful GT racing cars. The rear lights of the BMW M4 CS make a visually powerful statement with their striking appearance during the hours of darkness. As well as generating a powerful radiance, their Laserlight technology is also marked out by intricate fibre optic bundles inside the light units, which have a “free-floating” appearance and are illuminated by a laser diode. The result is a prominent 3D effect. This technology was first seen in the BMW M4 CSL high-performance special edition produced in a limited run of 1,000 units, and now also brings an exclusive aesthetic to the BMW M4 CS.

Racing flair in the cockpit: M Carbon bucket seats with exclusive design cues.

Exuding a puristic visual appeal, the cockpit of the BMW M4 CS focuses squarely on delivering an exhilarating driving experience, while also successfully blending its distinct racing aura with comfort features for everyday driving – thanks to high-quality materials and exclusive design elements. The standard M Alcantara steering wheel in three-spoke design with a flat-bottomed rim offers a perfect combination of secure grip for dynamic driving manoeuvres and impressive comfort on longer journeys. Its red centre marker and CFRP shift paddles add an authentic racing flavour to the cockpit. The standard M Carbon bucket seats in a model-specific design also fuse racing-car feel and long-distance comfort to exceptional effect. Introducing BMW Motorrad’s Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/bmwmotorrad-automated-shift-assistant/ https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/bmwmotorrad-automated-shift-assistant/#respond Mon, 06 May 2024 06:56:58 +0000 https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/?p=94470
  • BMW Motorrad’s Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) offers automated clutch and gear shifting for enhanced riding comfort and control.
  • ASA ensures dynamic and smooth gear changes, eliminating the need for manual clutch operation and enhancing the overall riding experience.
  • With the new Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), BMW Motorrad presents an innovative technical solution that makes riding simpler and more comfortable. True to the motto “Simplify your ride”, the riding experience is further enhanced by the automation of the clutch and gearshifting, without sacrificing the emotionally important dynamics of shifting.

The Automated Shift Assistant features a clever functional design in which two electromechanical actuators automate the clutch and gearshift of the six-speed transmission, which is the main difference to a conventional shift assistant. There is no need for a hand lever to operate the clutch manually. Starting, stopping and manoeuvring are made easy with the Automated Shift Assistant.

Riding with the Automated Shift Assistant also becomes more enjoyable thanks to fast, rev- and load-adapted shift sequences and the resulting precise gear changes. The rider’s workload is reduced, which makes riding even more enjoyable. In addition, the Automated Shift Assistant creates an even more direct connection with the powerful boxer engine, as the precise clutch actuation makes it even easier to control the riding experience via the throttle grip and gearshift lever.

In ‘M’ shift mode, gear changes can still be made by foot control, allowing the rider to decide when to change gears.

In ‘D’ shift mode, the Automatic Shift Assistant really comes into its own. Shift points are automatically selected by the engine control unit. In both “M” and “D” modes, the rider benefits from perfectly executed gear changes with a smooth interruption of traction. The result is efficient motorcycle acceleration and increased riding stability.

When shifting up, for example, the jolt associated with a classic manual transmission with a manual clutch is largely eliminated, as is the risk of helmet contact between rider and passenger.

Downshifts are also designed to be as smooth as possible, minimising chassis disturbances. Specific characteristics of the automated shift function are assigned to the different riding modes to ensure perfect shift behaviour in each riding situation. In combination with Active Cruise Control or front collision warning, the networking of functions also brings the future of motorcycling to life.

Automated clutch and gear shifting for a new riding experience.

In difficult riding situations, using the clutch and throttle takes a lot of concentration. If you are travelling with luggage and perhaps a passenger, using the clutch and gearshift takes up resources. The rider remains in control and has more freedom in every riding situation with the Automated Shift Assistant. Riding becomes a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.

The powerful boxer engine enables almost effortless pulling away on uphill gradients, for example, thanks to automated clutch operation, which also pays dividends in terms of better vehicle control off-road or on difficult surfaces.

Riding pleasure takes on a whole new meaning when you choose the automated D mode. Optimally selected gear changes create a new riding sensation with a more intense driving experience. The right gear is automatically selected according to the rider’s individual riding needs, resulting in a harmonious and extremely smooth driving experience.

Electromechanical clutch and gearshift actuators combined with sophisticated electronic controls.

The Automated Shift Assistant is the logical and technical evolution of the BMW Motorrad Shift Assistant Pro. Two electronically controlled electromechanical actuators operate the clutch and gearshift, enabling easy starting and automated gear changes. The rider’s shift request is transmitted to the control unit via a gearshift lever sensor, which is actuated by the conventional foot-operated gearshift lever. Additional sensors determine the revs of the transmission input shaft and the clutch position. These values are transmitted to the TCU (Transmission Control Unit), which is closely linked to the engine control unit, for modelling and control of the clutch, shift actuation and status.

The clutch is operated by an electro-mechanical actuator combined with a hydraulic system with a direct hydraulic connection between the clutch master and slave cylinders. The actuator regulates the required clutch slip, engages the clutch when changing gear and disengages it when stopping.

In manual shift mode “M”, the rider can move the gearshift lever in the desired direction in the usual way. If the revs in the desired target gear are within the maximum or minimum rev range, the shift is made directly. If the engine revs fall below a gear-dependent minimum speed, downshifts are also performed automatically in manual mode. This prevents the engine from stalling.

In shift mode “D” the gears are changed automatically depending on the riding mode, engine revs, throttle position and lean angle parameters. Gears are shifted according to the riding situation and dynamic requirements.

The benefits of the Automatic Shift Assistant (ASA) can be summarised as follows

    • Completely eliminates the need for the rider to operate the clutch.
    • Dynamic and comfortable gear changes for more riding pleasure.
    • Choice of manual or automatic gear shifting.
    • Automatically adapts gear shifts to the rider’s dynamic preferences in automated D mode.
    • Eliminates the possibility of engine stalling due to unfavourable gear shifts.

How Do You Find the Best Cross-Country Car Transport Provider for Your Needs? https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/how-do-you-find-the-best-cross-country-car-transport-provider-for-your-needs/ https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/how-do-you-find-the-best-cross-country-car-transport-provider-for-your-needs/#respond Mon, 06 May 2024 05:49:35 +0000 https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/?p=94599 Embarking on a cross-country move is a significant undertaking, and the transportation of your vehicle is a crucial aspect of the journey. Selecting the top cross-country auto shipping company needs considerable thought to guarantee a smooth and dependable service. Explore key factors and expert insights on finding the optimal cross-country car transport provider that aligns with your specific needs.

    Evaluate Reputation and Reliability:

When seeking the best cross country car transport provider, start by evaluating the reputation and reliability of potential companies. A trustworthy firm will have a history of happy clients, honest business dealings, and a dedication to timely and safe car deliveries.

To get an idea of other people’s experiences with the transport companies you are considering, look for customer reviews and testimonials. Reputable businesses frequently have a great web image, and client testimonials may offer insightful information about their dependability and expertise. Reputation is earned through consistent performance, so prioritize companies with a proven track record in cross-country car transport.

    Verify Licensing and Insurance Credentials:

Ensuring that the cross-country car transport provider is properly licensed and adequately insured is a critical step in the selection process. Obtaining a license guarantees that the business complies with regulatory requirements and industry standards. It is evidence of their dedication to upholding industry standards for car transportation.

Additionally, comprehensive insurance coverage is essential to safeguard your vehicle during transit. Even though accidents and unanticipated situations are uncommon, having insurance offers comfort. Check the specifics of the insurance coverage, such as the amount of coverage, any deductibles, and the claims procedure.

    Examine Transport Options and Fleet:

Different cross-country car transport providers offer various transport options and vehicle carriers. Examine your possibilities while taking your unique requirements and preferences into account. Open transit is a popular and affordable option for cross-country movements, but covered transport offers additional security for valuable or historic cars.

Review the fleet of carriers used by the provider. Well-maintained and specialized carriers demonstrate Carrier dedication to the security and safety of automobiles being carried. In order to ensure an appropriate and safe mode of transportation, think about the kind of carrier that best suits the state and worth of your automobile.

    Explore Pricing Transparency and Affordability:

Pricing is a crucial factor in selecting the best cross-country car transport provider. Seek out businesses that offer thorough bids and are open about their price schedule. Transparency removes any potential for unpleasant surprises or additional charges by guaranteeing that you are informed of all transportation-related expenses.

However, the quality of the service shouldn’t be sacrificed for affordability. Providers who offer much cheaper pricing should be avoided as they may not be reputable, insured, or following industry norms. The secret to selecting the best cross-country auto transport company that suits your budget without sacrificing effectiveness and safety is to strike a balance between affordable rates and high-quality services.

    Consider Customer Support and Communication:

Effective communication and reliable customer support are crucial elements in ensuring a smooth cross-country car transport experience. Select a supplier who keeps lines of communication open, gives you frequent information, and responds to any questions or issues you may have.

Customer support that is responsive and knowledgeable contributes to a positive experience, allowing you to stay informed about the status of your vehicle throughout the journey. Seek a service provider who is dedicated to helping at every step of the transportation procedure and places a high priority on client happiness.

Check for Additional Services and Flexibility:

The best cross-country car transport providers often offer additional services and flexibility to accommodate your unique needs. Extra convenience and customization to fit your needs are offered via services like expedited shipment, real-time tracking, and door-to-door delivery.

Flexibility in scheduling pick-up and delivery times is particularly important, allowing you to align the transportation process with your overall moving timeline. In order to exceed client expectations and guarantee a customized and effective experience, providers who go above and beyond by providing extra services and flexibility are demonstrating their devotion.

    Conclusion:

As you navigate the vast landscape of choosing the best cross-country car transport provider, remember that it’s not just about moving metal; it’s about entrusting a piece of your journey to experts who understand the value of the road ahead. You’ve covered a wide range of factors, from reputation and dependability to price transparency. Your cross-country relocation may be smooth and worry-free with the appropriate supplier, freeing you to concentrate on the thrill of beginning a new chapter in your destination state.

    Ferrari 12Cilindri: A New Chapter in Supercar Excellence https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/ferrari-12cilindri/ https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/ferrari-12cilindri/#respond Sat, 04 May 2024 08:34:46 +0000 https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/?p=94452
  • Ferrari’s latest grand touring supercar, the 12Cilindri, boasts a powerful 6.5 liter V12 engine with 819 horsepower and Formula 1-inspired technologies for exceptional performance.
  • Equipped with modern features like large screens, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, and advanced safety technologies, the 12Cilindri offers a blend of classic elegance and cutting-edge innovation.
  • Ferrari (RACE) has taken steps in recent years to utilize some innovative new technologies that help adapt them to an emerging world of more efficient, eco-friendly automobiles.

Plug-in hybrid cars like its 296 GTB sports car have recently proven popular, while it also partners with academics and scientists on battery research projects for electric vehicles (EV).

However, big, gas-sipping V12 engines remain at the core of Aston Martin and its latest supercar is an automotive statement saying ‘we aren’t finished yet.’

Ferrari’s latest grand touring supercar is known as 12Cilindri in Italian for “12 Cylinders.” This grand touring masterpiece offers the ideal blend of old world elegance, new technology and unbridled power and speed.

As its name indicates, the 12 features a 6.5 liter V12 engine connected to an eight-speed dual clutch gearbox under its long hood. What distinguishes it from most contemporary supercars, however, is that Ferrari’s V12 does not utilize turbocharging or hybrid electric technology like Lamborghini Revuelto does.

Ferrari installed upgraded engine parts, revised software settings and even utilized some Formula 1-inspired technologies in order to increase mechanical efficiency of their powertrain unit and produce 819 horsepower with 500 pound feet of torque and an unfathomably fast redline of 9,500rpm. The result? An astounding performance upgrade which can only be described as exceptional!

When driven as a coupe, the 12Cilindri goes from zero to 60 miles per hour in only 2.9 seconds and tops out at 211 MPH; when converted into “Spider” form its acceleration time decreases slightly to 2.95 seconds but will reach its same top speed nonetheless.

From its outside, both coupe and convertible versions of Ferrari 12 stand out among their lineup. At first glance, their overall shape suggests they were inspired by classic Prancing Horse cars such as their first “Miami Vice” vehicle 365 GTB/4 Daytona which features daytime running lights as well as an aggressive aerodynamic body kit – with modern day features added such as LED daytime running lights.

Interior elements add another modern element; screens dominate much of the dashboard real estate. A massive 15.6-inch display for gauges and key car information awaits drivers; passengers receive their own 8.8-inch screens showing this information. A 10.25-inch infotainment screen features standard Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility as well as wireless smartphone charging – optional 15 speaker Burmester sound systems are available as an extra.

The 12 comes equipped with some smart technologies designed to keep you on the road safely, such as brake-by-wire technology and four-wheel independent steering. Furthermore, its Slide Slip Control 8.0 system learns real-time grip levels for optimal traction levels.

Pricing for the United States market has yet to be confirmed; however, considering their European asking prices of around $424,000 for coupe and $467,000 for Spider models respectively, expect it not to come cheaply.

    Bentley Unveils Exclusive Bentayga Apex Edition https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/bentley-bentayga-apex-edition/ https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/bentley-bentayga-apex-edition/#respond Thu, 02 May 2024 05:38:24 +0000 https://www.globalbrandsmagazine.com/?p=94424
  • Exclusive Bentayga Apex Edition by Mulliner, based on sporting Bentayga S, limited to 20 examples globally
  • Content includes 22” carbon wheel, carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon body kit, bespoke livery and unique interior for ultimate expression of Bentayga performance
  • Choice of six distinctive designs curated by Mulliner, or the option to co-create a unique one-of-one specification
  • Carbon wheels and CSiC brakes together save 44 kg in unsprung mass for enhanced steering agility and immensely powerful, fade-free braking
  • Improved wheel stiffness equivalent to 1° in camber per 1G of force
  • Matching Bentayga Apex Edition offered exclusively for owners of Continental GT and GTC Le Mans Edition
  • Bentley Motors is extending both the visual impact and dynamic ability of the Bentayga even further through its Mulliner bespoke division, with the launch of a global 20-car collection named the Apex Edition.  Featuring ultra-strong, lightweight 22” Mulliner carbon wheels teamed with carbon ceramic brakes, it will be offered in a choice of six unique specifications curated by Mulliner’s design team.  All include a central painted livery stripe extending over bonnet and roof, a first for the Bentayga.  Even rarer will be a specification offered only to owners of the Continental GT Le Mans Edition who will be able to commission an Apex Edition Bentayga in matching trim and livery.

With 550 PS and a specification that includes active anti roll and rear-wheel steering, the Bentayga S is the sporting flagship of Bentley’s luxury SUV line-up. Now the Bentayga Apex Edition delivers even greater agility and braking performance thanks to its carbon wheels and carbon ceramic brakes, making it the most dynamic-looking and driving Bentayga ever.

    The most dynamic Bentayga ever

The Apex Edition is based on the Bentayga S, which features Bentley’s potent 4.0-litre, twin-scroll turbocharged V8 petrol engine. This develops 542 bhp (550 PS) and 568 lb.ft. (770 Nm) of torque, with a 0-60 mph (0–100 km/h) time of 4.4 (4.5) seconds and a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h). With Bentley Dynamic Ride active anti-roll control and rear-wheel steering fitted as standard, its exhilarating performance is enhanced by the sound of its free-flowing sports exhaust.

These dynamic characteristics are further enhanced by the Apex Edition’s 22” Mulliner carbon wheels, which were developed specifically for Bentayga in collaboration with specialists Bucci Composites. Together, the four wheels save 24 kg in unsprung mass. Carbon fibre not only provides a significant weight saving, but also offers the additional benefits of increased strength and stiffness. This leads to a number of fundamental benefits:

    • Increased steering agility – the 6 kg weight saving and the high stiffness afforded by the properties of carbon fibre mean a more stable and consistent steering platform. In comparison, a forged aluminium rim can lose up to a degree of camber due to wheel flex, reducing grip and agility.
    • Improved and more responsive braking – thanks to the decrease in unsprung mass.
    • Increased safety – when the rim receives a high impact, the weave pulls apart leaving openings to allow gradual air loss rather than instant deflation like an aluminium rim.
    • Reduced tyre wear – Since the stiffer carbon rim does not suffer from the same amount of bending, it allows for greater tyre stability and a more consistent contact patch thanks to a larger tyre support surface.

Braking performance is also enhanced, with Carbon-Silicon-Carbide (CSiC) discs a part of the Apex Edition’s uncompromising specification. These provide a weight saving of more than 20 kg over iron disc brakes, offer a maximum braking torque of 6,000 Nm and are engineered to withstand temperatures up to 1,000 °C.

    Six curated themes by Mulliner

The first of the six Mulliner themes features an exterior in striking Candy Red satin, with a livery of Anthracite and Arctic White stripe and pinstripes in Arctic White. Inside, Arctic White main hide and Hotspur secondary hide are complemented by Arctic White contrast stitching and seat piping. This contrast colour can also be found framing the satin carbon fibre fascia and waistrails.

Apex Edition theme two sets a darker, stealthier mood, with Anthracite exterior finish and gloss black livery stripe. Pinstripes in Mandarin provide a flash of contrast. Inside, Mandarin is revealed as the main hide, its dramatic impact framed by Beluga secondary hide. This shade also frames the satin carbon fibre veneer and overmats.

Design theme three has a bold exterior finish in Orange Flame and uses the same colour as a livery stripe on the carbon fibre body kit. Rather than a contrasting stripe colour, this design features an Orange Flame livery stripe in satin finish, creating a subtle tonal variation. Inside, Linen main hide and Newmarket Tan secondary hide are complemented by an accent hide in Charcoal, which appears on the seat wings and contrast stitching, steering wheel, and centre console.

Design theme four also features a subtle livery stripe in a satin version of the main exterior finish, in this case Alpine Green. An orange pinstripe traces the outline of the aerodynamic components. Inside, the prevalent tones are Portland and Cumbrian Green for the main and secondary hides respectively. Accents of orange appear on the contrast stitching, seat piping, veneer edging as well as on the console and steering wheel.

Theme five features an exterior in Pale Brodgar, with an Anthracite livery stripe and pinstriping in Bacalar Bronze, a shade originally created for Bentley Mulliner’s ultimate two-seat barchetta. Inside, the hide colours Linen and Porpoise set a relaxed mood, lifted by flashes of Bacalar Bronze in the contrast seat piping as well as on the steering wheel and console accent tabs.

The last design theme features an exterior finish of Extreme Silver, contrasted by a Beluga stripe running centrally along bonnet and roof. Painted pinstripes in Signal Yellow flank the body stripe and the lower edge of the aero components. Inside, Signal Yellow main hide and Beluga secondary hide create a dramatic contrast.

Finally, owners of the highly limited Le Mans Edition Continental GT and GTC, created in 2023 to mark the 20th anniversary of Bentley’s sixth victory at the La Sarthe circuit, can specify an Apex Edition Bentayga in matching livery of Verdant green with Moonbeam Le Mans style racing stripe. The interior matches that of the Le Mans Edition Continental GT, with Beluga hide and napped Dinamica fabric seat faces. The interior’s monochrome colour scheme is relieved by contrast seat stitching and seatbelts in Hotspur. The steering wheel, trimmed in hide and Dinamica, also features Hotspur contrast stitching and six o’clock accent tab.

    Apex Edition specification

Every Bentayga Apex Edition is comprehensively equipped with a high degree of bespoke content. Bespoke exterior features include the Styling Specification’s aerodynamic front spoiler, rear spoiler, sills and mirror caps in satin carbon fibre. Interior appointments centre around a bespoke colour split with satin carbon fibre fascia, centre console and door waistrails and the five-seat Comfort Specification, complemented by the  Naim for Bentley audio system. Additional bespoke touches include Apex Edition blind seat insert embroidery with contrast Bentley emblems, the Apex Edition namestyle on the waistrails, and Apex Edition carbon fibre treadplates. Carbon fibre Apex Edition badges also feature on the exterior D-Pillar. All Apex Edition models feature the latest advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with the inclusion of Touring specification.

    Bespoke co-creation

With production limited to just 20 Apex Edition examples worldwide, exclusivity is assured. Mulliner customers are encouraged to take the curated design proposals as inspiration, and to further express their individuality throughout the personal co-creation process. Working directly with designers at the Mulliner studio, customers have the opportunity to create true one-of-one expressions of Bentayga.

Each exterior colourway captures a fleeting moment in time from a number of remarkable destinations around the world frequented by clients from the Greater China region. These range from the vivid bloom of the Lantana flower in South America to the stunning sands of Sicily’s Cala Luna beach and the expansive sunsets witnessed on Boracay Island in the Western Visayas in the Philippines. Inside each ‘Spirit of Expression’ motor car, a recurring celestial motif celebrates the night sky above these extraordinary locations and the inspirational power of the stars.

Each of these one-of-one commissions has been envisioned as part of a global creative collaboration between the marque’s designers in Goodwood and the Bespoke designer based permanently in the Rolls-Royce Private Office Shanghai. Through the growing Private Office network – currently operating in Goodwood, Dubai and Shanghai, with further international launches planned for 2024 – Rolls‑Royce is immersing its talented creatives in luxury hubs around the world. Here, they can engage with the clients on an even deeper level, thereby elevating the marque’s Bespoke offering and experience still further, whilst also bringing essential regional insights back to the global headquarters at Goodwood.

    ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM EXTENDED ‘MAGNETISM’

Representing a modern interpretation of Rolls‑Royce’s pinnacle model, the Phantom Extended ‘Magnetism’ commission reflects the magnetic ambiance of a beach bay under the night sky. The two-tone exterior coachwork is finished in Cala Luna Sand, inspired by the hue of the moonlit beach sands, and Kabira Blue, reminiscent of the profound intensity of the horizon when the vast sea meets the midnight sky. The exterior is completed with a double coachline hand-painted in Arctic White and Cala Luna Sand.

Inside, the celestial concept is brought into technicolour with a complex Starlight Headliner: 768 Galileo Blue and 576 White hand-placed ‘stars’ make up the motif, which becomes animated by a further eight ‘shooting stars’.

The rear waterfall is adorned with an intricate expression of the celestial motif inlaid in stainless steel. The motif also appears on the exquisite Gallery artwork, which is embroidered in Arctic White thread on a Navy Blue canvas using satin stitch technique. In total, the Gallery piece comprises 43,096 stitches, carefully placed to make the most of the interplay between light and shadow on the textured surface. The motif is also referenced on the passenger panel.

The front and rear reclining seats are trimmed in Blue Grey, Navy Blue and Arctic White leather with Arctic White contrast stitching, seat piping and headrest monograms. The door veneer is open-pore Obsidian Ayous – a contemporary, tactile finish that celebrates the wood’s natural grain.

    ROLLS-ROYCE SPECTRE ‘ESCAPISM’

The bold colourway of Spectre ‘Escapism’ recalls the tropics of South America, whence the inspiration for this motor car is drawn. The two-tone exterior is finished in celebratory Lantana Red, referencing the vivid red tones of the Lantana Flower, whose vibrant bloom is believed to bring good luck. The upper section and coachline are rendered in a more subdued Tempest Grey. The 23″ seven-spoke part-polished wheels have centres painted in Lantana Red, matching the surface above. The exterior coachwork treatment concludes with a softly illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy figurine.

Inside, the interior is presented in Selby Grey, Purple Silk and Sunset leathers. Sunset is also selected for the seat piping, contrast stitching and headrest monograms. Above, the Starlight Headliner features 960 fibre-optic ‘stars’ in the Sunset hue, completed with eight white ‘shooting stars’, formed with 192 fibre-optic lights. The Obsidian Ayous veneer extends to the spokes of the Purple Silk steering-wheel, which is complemented by purple instrument dials.

    ROLLS-ROYCE GHOST EXTENDED ‘EXPRESSIONISM’

Rolls-Royce Ghost provides the purest blank canvas for Bespoke personalisation. The expressive nature of Ghost is unleashed with the ‘Boracay Blue’ exterior colour of the ‘Expressionism’ commission, evoking the sunsets over Boracay Island. This vivid Bespoke colour captures unique hues witnessed during the transition from sunset to twilight, when the sky appears to become one with the Sulu Sea. This is accentuated with a single hand-painted Lime Green Coachline, subtly referencing Boracay Island’s rich, tropical flora and fauna. The exterior is resolved with part-polished 21-inch alloy wheels incorporating Orbit Grey centres and Lime Green pinstripes, shod in White pinstripe tyres.

Inside, the seats are trimmed with Black and Arctic White leather with Lime Green accents. The latter hue also appears in the seat and door piping, contrast stitching and headrest monograms.

The inner door pockets are embroidered with a celestial motif, rendered in Lime Green. To add texture and depth to this elegant expression of contemporary craft, the marque’s artisans used two different, contrasting stitching techniques. By carefully alternating the direction and angle of the stitch, the embroidery accentuates the curve of the pocket, creating a subtle three-dimensional effect. A total of 104,268 stitches are used across all four doors.

Above, the Starlight Headliner is presented in a vivid, abstract wave pattern, like silk in the wind, mimicking the embroidered pattern on the doors. The design is created with 520 Lime Green and 520 White ‘stars’ with eight White ‘shooting stars’ that follow the curvature of the design.

The ‘Spirit of Expression’ Bespoke commissions will be on public display at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2024), which takes places in the capital’s China International Exhibition Centre (CIEC) from Thursday 25 April until Saturday 4 May 2024.
